Companies have known for years that supporting community efforts can reflect favorably on the organization. Our Trailblazers deemed this connection crucial to the achievement of diversity and inclusion in their businesses, since this involvement drives results in lots of ways.

Being concerned with the community leads to using a better representation of workers that reflect the community. When employees find that their organizations care about the communities where they reside, they are in turn more committed to the business and prone to be ambassadors for the business as they socialize with their friends, family members, and colleagues.

Some companies have very specific community targets, while others encourage community projects since they surface since they generally find it as the"right thing to do." Once an organization has clear diversity and improvement goals associated with community participation, its leaders' and workers' activities as neighborhood volunteers are more likely to elicit tangible outcomes.
